About

Hello, I’m Carolyn!

I’m an artist, master gardener, naturalist, writer, retired minister, wife, mom to three grown kids, and companion to one very large dog. I’m also a lover of all things outdoors and a firm believer that there’s always something wonderful to discover if we take the time to look.

I call Santa Fe, New Mexico, home, where the high desert—with its beautiful native plants, dramatic skies, birds, and rugged landscapes—inspires much of my art. In my Etsy shop, you’ll find nature-inspired art assets for your creative projects, along with garden guides on native plants, gardening for birds, and the importance of keystone plants in supporting wildlife.

When I’m not drawing or creating, I’m often in my own garden, working to restore native habitat and make a welcoming home for birds and other wild visitors. It’s a work in progress, naturally, and the birds don’t always follow my plans! I’ll share some of those adventures here, along with observations, discoveries, and the occasional amusing tale from my little corner of the high desert. The photo here is from beautiful Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia, a place that reminded me just how many ways there are to be amazed by the natural world. Though my heart belongs to the high desert, I find inspiration wherever nature leads me!

I hope my work inspires you to bring a little more nature into your creative projects, discover the wild beauty of the place you call home, and find new ways to care for it.

Thanks for stopping by. I’m so glad you’re here!
